Frequently asked questions
How do I add or edit verses?
Open the app and add verses from the verse list. You can type a reference, paste text, or look up a passage in the Bible reader.
How does memorization progress work?
Verses move through three stages:
- In Practice — train with guided modes
- Growing — pass “Test Yourself” on separate days (85%+ accuracy)
- Mastered — passed the test on three different days
Only “Test Yourself” counts toward progress. Other practice modes are for training only.
How do daily streaks work?
Your streak increases when you either pass a verse test with 85% or higher accuracy, or spend at least 3 minutes practicing. You can adjust streak settings in Settings.
How do practice reminders work?
You can turn on local reminders in Settings. BIBLE HOOK uses on-device notifications only — no account required.
How does the home screen widget work?
Add the Daily Streak widget from your iPhone home screen. It shows your streak and can remind you before midnight if you haven’t practiced yet. Widget setup instructions are available in Settings.
Why does the app ask for microphone or speech access?
BIBLE HOOK uses speech recognition so you can speak your verse during practice. Microphone access is only used when you choose that feature. You can decline permission and still use other practice modes.
Do I need an account?
No. BIBLE HOOK does not require sign-in. Your verses and progress are stored on your device.
Free trial New subscribers may receive a 7-day free trial. After the trial, your chosen plan renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
Manage or cancel Subscriptions are managed through your Apple ID:
- Open Settings on your iPhone
- Tap your name → Subscriptions
- Select BIBLE HOOK and choose Cancel Subscription
Deleting the app does not cancel your subscription.
Restore purchases If you already subscribed on this Apple ID:
- Open BIBLE HOOK
- Go to the subscription screen
- Tap Restore Purchases
Billing questions Charges and refunds are handled by Apple. For billing help, visit Apple Support or request a refund through your App Store purchase history.
